Alison is an experienced family law attorney committed to helping divorcing families resolve issues with respect and efficiency. She has successfully negotiated, mediated and litigated prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and all aspects of divorce and family law matters, including spousal and child support, custody and visitation and equitable distribution. Before founding Alison Heller, LLC, Alison practiced law at both a large Wall Street firm and at one of New York City’s leading firms dedicated to matrimonial law.
Alison is a trained mediator and has received a post –graduate certificate from the Center for Mediation in Law. She has been appointed to the Matrimonial Law Committee of the Association of the City Bar of New York, where she is a member, and also is a member of the New York Collaborative Law Group, the New York County Lawyer’s Association and the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York. Alison has done pro bono and volunteer work for the City Bar Fund, InMotion, Inc. and Safe Horizon’s Mediation Program. Alison has also completed graduate coursework at NYU’s School of Social Work with the goal of better understanding and identifying the challenges and dynamics of families going through the stress of a divorce.
Alison graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law where she was an Editor of the North Carolina Law Review. She is admitted to the New York State Bar.
